Mini Beauty Haul | Sephora and Lush

Over the weekend, I decided to pick up some beauty items and treat myself to some luxuries.

Lush: I decided to walk to into Lush for the first time ever and was pleasantly surprised! The prices of everything were not over the top like I had expected and the staff was really helpful and not intimidating. I wanted to pick up a few bath bomb and also to try out a face mask.

Pink Bath Bomb: This bomb has a very sweet smell with a hint of vanilla to it which drew me in. The cute flowers are a cute touch to the bath bomb.

Avobath Bomb: If you’re not a fan of lemon grass then this bath bomb is not for you. Fortunately for me, I love the sent because it smells so fresh and so clean which can be so invigorating!

Rose Queen Bath Bomb: I love floral scents and the scent on this bath bomb is really strong. I can just imagine using this bath bomb leaving my skin smooth and silky with the added flower petals. I’m excited to use this.

Mask of Magnaminity – Self Preserving: When I saw and smelled this mask, I was hooked. The description of this mask states that it has peppermint in it and knew that it would be a refreshing mask to use. I used this mask about a week ago and absolutely loved it. After you leave this mask on for about 5 – 10 minutes, use some water to slowly and gently scrub the mask off. My skin felt fresh and tight after the mask was off and i really felt like it got deep into my pores to give my skin a deep cleanse. I really love it.

Sephora: I stopped into Sephora to pick up two items; one that I’ve been wanting to try and one that I needed more of.

tarte – Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation: When I saw this foundation, I was really intrigued because of the mesh covering over the foundation. To get the foundation, you lightly press down on the mesh with a flat top brush and just the right amount of foundation will be applied on to your brush. I have used this a few times along with the liquid foundation from tarte as well and it is really amazing. The coverage is great and gives amazing coverage, but still looks very natural.

Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer: This bronzer is a classic and is worth the money. It gives you great dimension back into your face after you apply your foundation while still looking natural.  I’ve been using this bronzer for a few years now and I am still a believer that this bronzer is one of the best bronzers I have used before.

Hope you enjoyed the post! Till next time, see ya!

Mini Haul: 09/01/2013

Aloha! I know I’ve been starting off each post the same, but I am sorry about the lack of post here! 😦 I just haven’t really been feeling inspired lately! But, hopefully this haul will be a good push to start blogging more again.

I thought I’d a quick haul with stuff that I have recently picked up. Enjoy! Warning: The majority of my stuff hails from Forever 21! : 3

So to start off, I bought this beautiful maxi dress from Forever 21 for an upcoming wedding. I thought it was perfect since it’ll be outdoors and I’m assuming it’ll be warm since it’s warm now… not warm… HOT & HUMID. I really hate this So Cal weather right now… but that’s besides the point. Anyways, I love how this dress fits on me. I was a bit hesitant with the sizing since I’m short, but it worked out perfectly. I bought a medium, I usually wear a large, but I figured the layering would hide my lumps and bumps and it does! It is a bit long, but I figure I’ll just wear my litas or other heels with this dress.

P.S. This is my Carrie Bradshaw dress. Haha, I kinda been looking for a dress like this for the longest time ever since I saw the second movie. (Below) As bad as it was, the fashion was just amazing. It’s my guilty pleasure for sure.

This skirt is also from Forever 21. It’s very similar to the dress above, but it’s the skirt version. It has the pleating and the same color. I had a skirt similar to this, but it got ruined with a few runs and some oil stains that just wouldn’t budge. This skirt is just so beautiful on. It hugs my waist at the right spot. It’s pretty long for a midi skirt because of my small height, but it hits me right at the ankles, which i love. I wore this to work and got a lot of compliments. It’s so easy to dress this up or down. I’m so happy with this skirt 🙂

This skirt is also from Forever 21. I thought it would be a perfect transition skirt from summer to fall because of the warm colors. It has the peplum design to it which is great for hiding a tummy. It is a little shorter than what I had expected, but once the colder months roll around I think it’ll be perfect for the office with some black opaque tights. I think pairing this with a plain top and minimal accessories would look so chic and cute for the office.

So this is my second black blazer. My other blazer is more for interviews and professional purposes, this one is more relaxed fitting and just to wear whenever. I love the detail of the inner sleeves when you roll them up. I thought this would be a great addition to any outfit that you want to make look more put together or more dressed up. Also, it’s a pretty comfortable blazer as well. This would be perfect with a graphic tee, a pair of jeans, and my white converse.

Yes, I bought a lot of skirts, I know. I’m aware. haha. This one also hails from the land of being 21 forever. This skirt really grabbed my attention because of the baroque detail and the colors. I really love this type of blue and the fact that it’s against white and not black made it that much better. I wore this to work as well and a lot of people complimented me as well. This skirt is just amazing. Also, the fact that it’s a bit thicker than the normal jersey/cotton pencil skirts, it hides your tummy so well too!

This cardigan is sooooo cute. Super slouchy and super casual to wear to pretty much anywhere.  It has a bat winged detail and is super long, which I love! I got this to replace an old black cardigan I had a while ago and this was perfect. I think it’s a good dupe to the American Apparel shawl cardigan, but of course it’s not as slouchy or long, but it’s good enough especially because it’s a fraction of the AA price 😉

I’m really in love with this skater style dress I got from Forever 21. It really is super flattering on my body and hugs me at all the right places. On the website it looked a little bit thicker material but it came as a jersey/cotton type of material, which I was a little disappointed about, but it worked out. I think this dress is very timeless because of the style and design of the dress. Lovee!

I got these cute boat shoes from Old Navy for about $12. Steal! I really need a casual pair of shoes that weren’t converse or vans, so I opted for these! I’ve been wanting a pair of boat shoes, but I didn’t want to pay a lot or I didn’t want it to have unnecessary accessories glued onto it. That’s why I just had to buy these once I saw them. I think these would be perfect to wear to work or out and about running errands.

So for the crème de la crème  of my purchases, I bought these beautiful and practical and affordable shoes from Steve Madden. I usually go into the store just to look around and never buy because I can never afford any of their shoes, but I saw these and instantly fell in love. They follow the “sandal” trend that has taken over all fashion blogs and videos, but what I love about these is they are wedges! Low wedges at that! And they have such a stunning buckle detail to it and a great color combination! And the price was soooo hard to beat… $49.95. ON CLEARANCE. I had to buy these! They are called the Nanncy. I wear them to work mostly and they are soooooo comfortable. This has to be one of my favorite purchases in a long time. I’m so in love! 🙂  I think this might be my first “brand name” shoe purchase ever! Uh-oh, I’m addicted! haha My wallet will be hurting…. OH WELL.

You made it to the end! Yay! Thank you for reading and looking! Till next time. See ya.

Mini Makeup Haul.

Here are a few make up items that I have recently picked up within the last 2 months. It’s not much, but I thought I’d share my thoughts on them 🙂 Enjoy!

Image

I have been really getting into Revlon products recently. I love their products because of the quality and the packaging. Considering that they are “Drug Store” products, their quality is just impecable.

I picked up 2 items from their “Photoready” collection and I am loving them! I got the concealer and the liquid foundation. As you can see, I have been using them. The concealer is extremely creamy and glides on wonderfully. It really covers your dark under eye circles and your spots. I love this thing! The liquid foundation has been a favorite of mine since the summer. It has medium coverage and it has tiny sparkles in it to help make you shine without the greasiness! Love these two!

Lipsticks man. I love them, but I barely wear them! LOL. I picked up two lipsticks from Rimmel and Revlon (of course!). The Rimmel lipstick is from the Kate Moss line, which is amazing! The color is 08 Rouge. This color is a mauvey pink color that is a great nude color. It’s kind of like you lip’s color, but better! The one thing that I love about Rimmel lipsticks is they always smell amazing! The second lipstick is from Revlon. The color is 325 Toast of New York. The packaging is just amazing and so elegant. The color is a bit of a brownish red, but it’s not too intense. It’s ver moisturizing and gives great color pigmentation.

An oldie, but a goodie. I think I will always go back to MAC press powders. Despite the price of these things ($28) I love this product. Maybe a holy grail product. I picked this up in December and it has been serving me well. The coverage of this product is wonderful! You can wear this own it’s own or with a liquid foundation underneath, it all depends on how much coverage you want. I love this product!

Hope you enjoyed this post! ‘Till next time! 🙂

Mini Collective Haul (11/12/12)

Yes, ANOTHER haul… I should just wait a month and do a major collective haul. So, my next collective haul will be next month, I promise. haha. These are items that I had picked up from the last 2 weeks from H&M, Target, Closet, and Nordstrom Rack. Enjoy 🙂

I picked up this satchel purse from Target a week ago. For a while, I was looking for a new purse, since my favorite purse from the Philippines is falling apart. Of course, whenever I go out looking for a new item, I never find it. But on a random trip to Target, I found this gem! It has all of my criteria for a perfect purse: spacious, structured, and compartments within the bag.

My boyfriend and I have been having an obsession with H&M recently, and my wallet is not happy about it, but I am haha. I picked up 2 pairs of bracelets one being a type cuff bracelet and the other being sort of a chain bracelet. I’ve been seeing a lot of Youtubers, like Tara from the TarMarTales & Sammi from BeautyCrush,  from the UK and Ireland rocking jewelry like this from H&M. So of course, I NEEDED it. Loving both because it’s so simple, but it’s also out of the ordinary.

Picked up this cozy sweater from H&M as well. What drew me to this sweater was the color, Mint, and how soft it was. I think it’s made so beautifully with the pattern and the cut of this sweater. In H&M, their new spokesperson is Lana Del Rey, whose music I am currently OBSESSED with and I just love how she looks. I think in one of the ads in the store she was wearing this sweater, and it influenced me to get, NOT GONNA LIE. The sweater is very cute on, but my only complaint is that it’s a bit itchy, but I can live with that.

So, I picked up this plain black scarf from H&M as well. While I was shopping, I realized that I didn’t own a plain black scarf. I have blue one and I have a black one that is a bit too chunky since it’s crocheted, but I just wanted a plain black scarf with fringe. This is a great staple piece to have in your closet because it goes with everything and it keeps you warm. Also, I love how big this scarf is!

Them booooots. As my last item from H&M, are my boots. I am in love with these boots. I love the chain detail about these boots, I love that it’s removable as well. The first thing I thought of when I bought this was that I can use the chain on different pairs of shoes that I own, like my combat boots and my LITAS, which I am excited for! :3 Even without the chain, these boots are so cute and simple. It’s great that I can wear it both ways. I’m so excited to wear them out!

Recently, I have been popping into Nordstrom Rack a lot and always look through their clearance items and I found a few goodies. So the weather here in SoCal is starting to feel a bit like Fall, dipping down to the low 70’s and mid 60’s, yes, that’s cold. I found this “Ox Blood” sweater. It’s warm enough for me to wear on it’s on a cool day but light enough for me to layer on chillier days, which I love!

Also from Nordstrom Rack, I picked up this cute white and black cardigan. I think that it’s a very classic cut and design that will go with mostly everything. I think that it’s a great piece to have because it can dress up any outfit and can add a touch of sophistication to a plain outfit as well.

Lastly from Nordstrom Rack, I picked up Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion! I am very excited about this. First off, it was less that $10… I MEAN C’MON!!!! and secondly, it’s a very popular make up item and I am so curious about this. I have very oily eyelids and I am hoping that this can help keep my make up from creasing on my eyelids, so we’ll see!

At my local mall, I picked up this navy and white striped chiffon shirt. I was a bit iffy about this blouse because of the bold print, but I thought, “what the hell… I own this shit”. Confidence, man. Working on it. Anywho, I loved how this shirt looked on me and I am so excited to wear this out 🙂 I just think that this blouse has so much sophistication to it and I think that it’s an easy blouse to wear and to pair things with.

Lastly, I picked up this blouse from the same store at the mall. I have been loving this Maroon/Ox Blood color lately and I just want to own everything in this color. Also, I have a slight obsession with chiffon blouses. This shirt is a great piece to wear on days where you don’t really feel like dressing up, but still want to look put together.

That’s it! I can’t wait to wear and use all of these items! But I need to calm it down with shopping. My wallet is not happy haha. Anyways. Hope you enjoyed it. Have a great day!
