2016 Fall Trends: Trends I am Loving!

I thought I’d stick to my roots and do a “Fall Trends” post. It may be hard for you to believe, but I started this blog as a fashion and style blog. I still love doing these post, but travel has obviously been a huge passion of mine lately. But, nonetheless, I still love fashion and style, so let’s get to the list!

Floral – Although many may say that floral is not appropriate for the fall, I say fuck ’em! Screw the rules, I think that you can wear whatever you’re loving at the moment. I love floral for all times of the year and I think you could really incorporate floral into your fall outfits. Florals in a muted town or paired with darker colors are great for fall and can be great for the festive holidays in the fall or winter!

 photo floral_zpsnfb8krf2.jpeg

Denim – Denim is forever a trend for all seasons and of all time. I’ve been really loving all denim outfits or aka “The Canadian Tuxedo” because of the casual and cool vibes that it gives off. Denim dresses and overalls are great for on the go people who are in a bind when they don’t know what to wear because you can just put it on with a plain tee and you’re ready to go. I love denim and I love how timeless it can be.

Lace Up – Lately, I have been loving lace up details with everything! I think the lace up detail is great especially for evening wear because it can give off a sexy vibe without showing too much skin, but just enough. I’m really having a moment with body suits with the lace up front detail. Also, I think this detail pairs perfectly with the fall weather because the tops with this detail are usually sweater materials or a thicker material top. I love this detail!

Hope you liked this post! Enjoy the Fall weather and wear what you love! See ya!

Outfit Ideas: Camping

I love camping. I love being outdoors, enjoying the scenery, and being disconnected from society. Theres a certain clarity I get after each camping trip that I go on and I love it. It’s kind of a refresh from real life and great rejuvenation. There are many different ways of camping and I thought I’d share some outfit ideas for 3 different camping scenarios.

Glamping: Glamorous camping or “glamping” is a luxurious way of camping. When you are glamping you usually have all the necessities with you. Also, when you go glamping, you usually have a relaxing time and it can be like a spa like atmosphere. For outfits for glamping, I think keeping it really casual and flowy is very important. Since you will be relaxing for the most of your trip, keeping cozy during summer nights with chunky sweater and flowy shorts is an ideal outfit for trips like these.

 photo img-set 2_zpsttpj5lip.jpeg

Casual Camping: What I consider causal camping is camping at a set campsite with a great group of people and keeping the mood casual with light hikes and trips to a close lake. For this outfit, I think wearing athletic wear would be a great option. For the short hikes throughout the day, I think comfortable shoes like Nikes would be perfect for this type of outing. Also, keeping the outfit relaxed with the comfy tee and capris can make this outfit practical and casual.

 photo img-set 1_zpstoevxnqs.jpeg

Semi-Rugged Camping: Growing up I use to go camping all the time with my family, but it would be the type of camping at a designated camp sites with big groups of people. It was fun and I really enjoyed and learned a lot about camping when I was younger, but since my boyfriend and I moved out, we also started camping. We’ve done casual camping and we have done some “semi-rugged” camping as well. I’ve really enjoyed our rugged outings together. We’ve done a couple of overland trips in Death Valley, so we’ve had our car with us so we weren’t completely out alone or “backpacking”, which is why I don’t consider it completely rugged camping. But some may say it is since there are no bathrooms where we stayed. For outings like this, it’s important to be prepared for a range of different types of weather with having a jacket that can keep you warm but give you ventilation when needed. Also, since you will be going out through rugged terrain, having a good pair of hiking shoes will save your feet along with a good thick pair of socks. Another key item is having a good backpack that can keep your things organized and can distribute the weight evenly; it will be a life saver on your back. Also, it’s important to keep hydrated while out camping so keep a lot of water with you by either keeping jugs in the car or having a camel back or a bottle that you can refill in your bag.

I hope you found this post helpful and hope you enjoyed it! Enjoy camping! Be safe! Be smart and have fun!

#BeachDayMust – Adore Me

Beach Essentials - Adore Me

Aloha everyone! Since summer is here, I thought I’d go over some of my beach essentials for this summer. The beach can be fun and relaxing, but theres are somethings that I think would make your beach day better.
1. Sunglasses: Having a comfortable pair of sunglasses will make the difference on a sunny day out. When picking a pair, I think having an edgy pair of glasses can pull your look together with minimal effort.
2. Sunscreen: Wearing sunscreen with a high SPF is key to a sunny day out. I use to not wear sunscreen at all, but since I’ve gotten older skin care has been more important to me. I’ve used the Neutrogena sun screen before and it is great! It’s protecting and not greasy.
3.  Sandals: Comfortable shoes that can slip on and off when in the sand are great to wear to the beach. Birkenstocks are a great option to wear to the beach. I use to not like these shoes, but I think these shoes give your beach outfit a relaxed feel.
4. Beach Bag: A big beach bag is an easy way to fit all of your essentials into. I think having a beach bag that is a bit structured is great because you could easily organize your beach items for the day.
5. Speakers: I don’t know about you, but I love to have music on everywhere I go. Everytime I go to the beach I like to bring a portable speaker with me so that I could either listen to my favorite songs or even to a podcast or audiobook.
6. Hat: Wide rim hats are a great addition to sunglasses for blocking out the sun. The bigger the hat the better.
7. Beach Towel: Beach towels can be used for a variety of things. You could either use towels for drying you off or use it to sit on and to lounge on.
8. Bathing Suit: Wearing a comfortable swim suit that you are confident in can change your beach day from an average one to a great one. I think this swimsuit from AdoreMe.com is so cute and is flattering on many different body types. AdoreMe has a wide range of sizes  that can fit many body types. I think that the print is great on all body types and is a great detail on a simple swimsuit. Also, with this swimsuit I love that the straps could be taken off and converted to strapless swimsuit. This suit is so versatile and is adorable!
Hope you enjoyed this post! Till next time!

Wish List: Current Swoon-Worthy Items

Hello everyone! Today I thought I’d go over some of my current wish list! These are things that I have been swooning over for a while and hope to get in near or maybe even distant future. Even though some of these items are on the pricier side, I hope that if I work hard enough for it, I will eventually meet my goal and earn these items!

 photo 45DDBB63-5541-43D4-8243-7127AF6403F3_zpscbseegno.jpg

So, as you can see, all of the items are pretty much black. I’m not goth, but I just like the color black. #allblackeveryday. For me, I am so comfortable dressing in mostly black clothing. It gives me confidence and what’s so wrong with being confident in yourself? Anywho, on to my current Wish List.

  1. Adidas Sweatshirt – If you haven’t notice in the picture, I am currently really feeling active wear. I have been lusting over the old school Adidas sweatshirts. I think they are so classic and so simple that it makes a statement every time you wear it. Also, I think this sweater can be great for home use and even wearing out on cold summer nights. It would be so cute with some casual sneakers and a pair of denim shorts. I use to hate hoodless sweatshirt for some weird reason, but I have recently fallen in love with them. I love this sweater and hope to get it soon, but the $50+ price tag is really hindering my purchase. I think I’ll just have to get over it and just get it.
  2. Nike Leggings – Recently, I have had a workout kick, so work out gear has been jam lately. I love Nike gear and everything Nike. I have a few pairs of their sneakers, but really no clothing items… yet. I love the look of Nike leggings because of the Nike logos and slogans that are designed on the leggings. I love how some of the leggings have the print printed on both legs. I’ve never had a pair, but I have felt them and feel so comfortable and look so chic. I want it… I need it. You will be mine soon.
  3. FitBit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch – I have had a FitBit before, but sadly it has pooped out on me and for some reason doesn’t want to sync to my phone. But when it did work, I loved it. I loved that you don’t have to worry about it and you just wear it and don’t have to set it or anything. I have been really intrigued with the FitBit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch because it looks like great arm candy and it can keep you healthy.
  4. Nike Air Max Thea – I’ve never been a sneaker head and never really cared about my sneakers except for my Chucks back in the day. But recently, I have been loving Nike sneakers because of the great quality of shoes and it feels like you’re walking on air with Nikes on. I have been seeing a few Youtubers with this pair of shoes and I have been converted. I love how classic these shoes look. I think these shoes are simple, but can give an outfit a good amount of edge without trying too hard. Also, they look comfy AF.
  5. Ray-Ban Clubmasters – I have been a fan of Ray-Bans for a good amount of years and I own two pairs of Ray-Bans and I want more styles. I have always loved the Clubmasters because of the retro feel of the glasses. I love that these glasses goes with so many trends and outfits. I’ve tried these glasses on before and they are so comfy because of the nose pads and the light design. When you have a flat face like me, nose pads are a God-send.
  6. Mini Chanel Leather Bag – This Chanel bag is a farfetched reach, but a girl can wish, right?  I have always loved Chanel because of the simple and the timeless design. I think that Chanel is a classic brand and a great brand to invest in. I hope that in the future I can work hard and buy a bag for myself. I feel like when I get to that point in my life, I will be very happy.
  7. Solo 2: Beats by Dre – I have always used the most basic headphones, usually the headphones that come with phone. But since I have had my workout kick, I’ve wanting to get a pair of wireless headphones so that I could be free from the wire. I also like the bigger headphones so that when I am at the gym no one will talk to me because they will clearly see the headphones. Also, I think bigger headphones are comfier than the ones you put in your ear.
  8. Bomber Jackets – Bomber jackets have definitely made a mean comeback in recent years and I am on board.  I remember when the bigger bomber jackets were in and they were pretty obnoxious. But the modern bomber jackets are more slimmer and more streamline than the old jackets. I think these jackets can go with so many outfits and can give an outfit a casual feel. I love how chill these jackets are, but can make you look like a bad ass at the same time.

I hope you enjoyed my current swoons! Till next time! See ya!

Review: Etsy Store – Heartificial

Recently, I became very inspired by one of my favorite Youtubers, Estee Lalonde because she recently posted a video about her DIY Denim Jacket. She decorated one of her old denim jackets in pins and patches that express her and her feelings. I loved the idea and thought that I would start a DIY patch and pin project on an old Levi’s jacket that I have.

I started to roam the internet to find some patches and pins that express things I love and things that represent me. I found myself on Etsy a lot because they offer a lot of customizable products and have very unique items as well. I bought a few patches that I though would go well with my project and a few pins. As my search was winding down, I thought I need a few more pins to pull the project together. I stumbled across an Etsy shop called Heartificial and instantly fell in love with their items. Their shop is filled with fun and playful pins, cross stitch items, and other crafty items. I particularly found myself drawn to their enamel pins. They have a lot of your favorite TV characters immortalized as pins. Once I saw the FRIENDS section, I knew I had to have to Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani pins. I instantly ordered them. They arrived in less than a week and right on time with no issues. In the package you receive your items along with a business card with all of their contact info and note expressing their gratitude. Also, the owner wrote a sweet message on the package stating “Thank you Jasmine!”, which I thought was a nice and personal touch from the company. The pins came exactly how they are pictured on the store site. I would definately recommend this Etsy store to anyone. Absolutely love it.

Outfit Ideas: In Transit

Aloha everyone! Have you ever been at a lost as to what to wear when you are traveling? You want to be comfortable, but yet you don’t want to look too much like a bum. I’ve come up with some outfit ideas that you can use as inspiration when you’re either traveling on a plane, bus, car, whatever.

Relaxed Outfit

 photo tumblr_o5jj3rArUE1qzk2k3o1_1280_zpsobqciozm.jpg

With this outfit, I went for ultra comfort, but still being put together. I went for the “I workout… sometimes” look with this outfit. Ahaha. But, seriously, workout gear is the most comfortable clothes to wear… especially when you are traveling. I think wearing workout leggings rather than sweatpants or joggers are much more flattering. Also, if you’re not comfortable with your butt or bottom half, you can always throw over a fun hoodie or sweater for comfort. With this outfit, I also paired it with a shawl that could turn into a scarf. I love wearing scarfs while traveling because they can be used in various different ways. You can use it as a scarf, a blanket, a shawl… So versatile!

Casual Outfit

 photo tumblr_o5jkcjCOom1qzk2k3o1_1280_zpsliprydjp.jpg

I personally really love this outfit. I think this outfit is perfect for someone who wants to be comfortable, but still casual and chic at the same time. I love the cool vibes that this outfit gives. With this outfit, you give off an effortless look, while still looking put together. The base of the outfit is really casual, but by adding trendy pieces like the long cardigan and the cheetah print loafers you can instantly make the outfit more put together and structured.

Dressy Outfit

 photo tumblr_o5jsmn01EO1qzk2k3o1_1280_zpsfmns8j9h.jpg

This outfit is for someone who has to either go to an important meeting once they get off the plane. Many people believe that you shouldn’t wear a dress while traveling becaus it is too uncomfortable or the outfit may get ruined. I think you can, but you have to find the right garment to wear. When choosing a dress to wear, you should look for a dress that is a stretchy material, a material that won’t wrinkle like neoprene, and a dress that is the right length. Also,  when wearing a dress when you travel, I recommend wear biking shorts underneath for extra coverage and comfort. I’ve also paired this outfit with a cute pair of flats for comfort just in case you need to run to your gate at the airport.
I hope you found these outfit ideas helpful and inspirational! Happy travels!

Current Favorites

Since I don’t really change up my daily routine too much to do Monthly Favorites, I thought I’d share my current favorites with you all.
 photo tumblr_o5g6xm2VwZ1qzk2k3o1_1280_zps2nhzmqf2.jpg

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation – I have mentioned this product more than a few times on this blog, but I love it so much. For me, it is a tried and true product that I know I can depend on if I want good and lasting coverage. This product feels light on the face, but still gives great full coverage. What I like the most about this product is that it blends so well into your skin and looks natural. For this product, you push your brush into the netting of the product and blend in with a thick make up brush.

2. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette – This was one of my first Urban Decay products that I have bought. I was tempted to buy one of the Naked Palette, but I didn’t want to commit to buying a $50 palette, so I thought this product was a great alternative. I think this product lives up to it’s name of being a great basic palette. The eyeshadows blend really well and is a great palette to use as a neutral palette.

3. Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo – I know that there is a huge trend right now of not washing your hair everyday, but I am not a true follower of this trend. I get really self conscious about not washing my hair everyday because I feel like my hair gets oily quickly. But there are some days where I get lazy and don’t want to wash my hair. On those days, I reach for this dry shampoo. This dry shampoo does not leave a white cast like most other products and it really helps absorb the oils from your hair and it smells amazing. I section off my hair and spray directly into my roots and rub and brush into my hair and it last all day.

4. Adidas Thunder Sackpack – I have had this backpack for a while now, but it wasn’t until recently that I’ve really appreciated it. I bought this backpack while I was on vacation in Quebec City. What I love about this product is that it is great quality for the price that it is. This bag retails for $17, which i think is a bargain for Adidas. This backpack has a great soft material inside the pack and has convenient zippers to hold all of your stuff. I have had it for nearly a year now and it is still holding up well.

5. NYX Tame and Frame Tinted Brow Pomade – I have been a lover of the ELF eyebrow gel, but I wanted to try something similar but different. This product has great pigmentation , but still gives a natural look. This product really controls your hair and gives you a sharp finish to your brows.

6. Nike Roshe Run – These were my first Nike purchases ever! I have had these for a few years, but I recently fell back in love with these shoes. Wearing these shoes feel like walking on clouds and are so comfortable to wear. If you need good support to your arches, these are great because of the thick soles of the shoe. I love running and trail hiking in these shoes. The only down side to these shoes are trying to keep it clean, but that’s ok because you can just wipe it down and it’ll be good as new. I have two pairs of Roshe Run, but I hope to grow my collection.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading! 🙂

Spring Trends 2016

Spring has arrived! I love Spring because the weather is a good mix of warm days and cool nights. I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged about fashion or something non-travel related, so I thought I’d squeeze one in. Here are some trends that I think that would be perfect for Spring of this year.

High Neck Lines: I’ve always loved high neck line on blouses and dresses. People may think that this neck line can be tricky with bustier girls like me, but if you are comfortable with yourself, it doesn’t matter. Confidence is your best accessory. You can either dress these types of dresses up or dress it down. The outfit below would be perfect for a day outing. I’ve paired the dress with a black denim jacket, white high top chucks, and a Gudemata bag because this character is so cute and amazing! I thought the bag added a fun and quirky element to the outfit.

 photo tumblr_o4nzx2T1Pi1qzk2k3o1_1280_zpsbdaylobv.jpg

Culottes: This trend may be a controversial one, but I like these. I think culottes are perfect for Spring weather. From far away the culottes look like you’re wearing a midi skirt, but when you walk you can see that they are pants. I think these are great because when the wind blows, you don’t have to worry about your skirt going up! But I think these can look so regal and can make you feel very feminine. Because culottes are a bit baggier, I think they look great with a more fitting top and a causal bag. I think you can also dress these up with a pair of strappy or minimal heels.

 photo tumblr_o4o40itoPS1qzk2k3o1_1280_zpsqomtbpco.jpg

Lace Up Trend: This trend has been around for a good while, but I think that it’ll be very popular in Spring. You can find this trend on blouses, dresses, and pants. I personally love this trend on skater dresses because it can give you a sense of sex appeal… without being slutty… unless you completely leave the laces super loose LOL. But I’ve created an outfit that would be great for a casual night out. I’ve paired the dress with earth tone colors and to give it some edge, I paired with an army green type of trench coat. I absolutely love this outfit and will try to recreate this in real life.

Lookbook: Holiday Outfits 2015

Since the Holiday Season is here, I thought I’d share with you 3 outfit ideas for 3 different occasions. I hope you get some inspiration!

Hiking Day Out – If you want to go on a post holiday feast hike, I think this outfit is perfect to stay trendy and to be practical. When my boyfriend and I went out to Arizona, I found my self reaching for this outfit a lot. I think this outfit is perfect for a day out for a chilly hike. It will keep you warm enough but not over heat you on the hike. The most important thing about this outfit is to layer and make sure you don’t get too hot. Mind you, I do live in Southern California and the SoCal Winter gets down to about 55-60 degrees… Fahrenheit. Also, invest in quality hiking boots, they will save your feet. I personally have a pair of Lowas and they are wonderful. Also, I think having a spacious backpack is important to hold all of your hiking essentials: water, snacks, wallet, phone, and your camera. And of course, this outfit is almost all black, which is my favorite.

Hiking Outfit

Casual Family Party – This outfit to me screams comfy, which is important with family parties. You want to be able to be comfortable and able to eat a lot of food with this outfit. The red sweater gives this outfit the holiday vibes, but the boots give it the edge that I love. This outfit is very casual, but appropriate for the family parties. In this outfit you can easily snuggle up and enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate with some yummy cookies!

casual outfit

Dressy Holiday Party – Recently I went to my boyfriends holiday party and I wore an outfit similar to the one below. Unfortunately, I do not have pictures, but the dress was black instead of red. In keeping in with the Holiday vibes, red dresses can always be a safe bet with Holiday parties. I have been loving long sleeve wrap dresses because I think they can be so flattering on any body type. It can give curves who want them and can complement those who have curves. I paired this look with gold and black accessories. And to top this outfit off, I thought this look would go great with a long line tan coat. I really love this outfit.

Holiday Party 2015

Hope you got some inspiration and enjoyed the post!

Happy Holidays!

Lookbook: Fall 2015 Trends

Fall is finally here! Even though in Southern California, it’s still an easy 90 degrees on an average day, I thought I’d still share some of my favorite trends for the season.

Front Button Down Denim Skirt – The 70’s trend is really popular now-a-days and while I’m still experimenting and still trying out the trend, I thought that the denim skirt would be an easy transition into the trend. I’ve seen this skirt pop up so many times in stores and with different beauty bloggers. This skirt is really versatile and can go with any top and can go into any season.

Fall Trend - Button Up SkirtTurtle Necks – For the longest time I’ve hated turtle necks when I was younger, but now I’ve grown to absolutely love them! I follow a few british bloggers and they all have been wearing chunky knit turtle necks and they look so chic! I think that turtle necks can give you an effortless sleek and sophisticated look.
Fall Trends - Turtle NeckShearling Denim Jacket – The Shearling Denim Jacket has been around for a long time. The jacket can easily give you a casual/edgy look for a nice outfit out at night. The jacket can keep you warm on chilly night out. Denim jackets are always in, but adding the the shearling lining, it makes a casual outfit more stylish and edgy. You can either dress the jacket up with a nice little black dress or with a pair of jeans a nice blouse. The jacket is great for either a day out or nice evening out.
Fall Trends - Shearling Denim Coat
