Last night, my boyfriend and I went out to the Anaheim Packing District for dinner. We’ve been there a number of times and we have a deal of trying all of the restaurants at least once. We decided to try the Kettle Steam Cooking last night.
The restaurant has a great industrial vibe or kind of a “hipster” vibe (in a good way:). They have a great selection of alcoholic drinks and different selections of seafood based dishes including oysters. The restaurant is described to be based on southern cooking with a seafood and modern twist.
We decided to order and share the shrimp po’boy served with garlic fries, the calamari, and the steamed mussels. And I must say, they were all very delicious! The shrimp po’boy was one of the best po’boys I have ever tasted. Maybe even better than the ones that I have had in New Orleans. The bread was soft, but not soggy, the shrimp was so crispy, and the spread tasted so amazing. The calamari was served with squid ink and had a nice tang to it. And the steamed mussels were so buttery and soft and melted in your mouth. I will definitely be back to try the rest of their menu.
